Rest In Peace Kevin Potawatomi. šŸ’”

Kevin, know that raising you was one of the greatest things I’ve done in my life, I love telling people the story about you, it was a risky journey for sure, but by God’s grace, He let you live. From the day you hatched, I feared losing you and that day has come too soon. There is no other bird that can take your place, there was only one of you.
Favor and I miss you more then anything and it is hard going out and you no being by her side. I miss all your little sounds you made, I miss seeing your beautiful, bright, and cheerful colors that made me so happy on the days I was feeling down, and I miss your sweet/funny personality. You will always be greatly missed by Favor, my family, and I. ā¤ļø

For those who don’t know, Kevin Potawatomi was a wood duck who was hatched on April 22, 2022. He was 1/27 who lived and I prayed every morning that God would let at least one live and that prayer was answered.

He was such a character.
He, first of all, absolutely loved his girls big šŸ˜‚ His mate was a black and white Muscovy, whose name is Favor. He was always by her side and never left it, if they were apart, something was wrong and everyone in my family knew it.
He knew is name and you could call him and he’d come with Favor at his side. He loved attention and knew he was all that in a bag of chips, probably because everyone told him it often.
A protector he was, he’d fight and chase off other drakes who came close to Favor, no matter their size.
Also, they absolutely loved eating human food, I could walk out with anything and they would both be right there begging for me to share.
A lot of the time it would be dried fruit, cheese, meat, etc. and they always got a little bit of whatever it was. I absolutely loved talking to him, you could say ā€œHello Kevinā€ and he’d make his cute little sounds in reply.

He was definitely a huge gift and I’m blessed that I was a friend to this little bird.
Favor and him opened a door to the world of ducks, I was able to get close to them and watch the interactions between these birds, watch them bathe in water closely, etc.

You will always and forever be in my heart, Kevin. ā¤ļø
