Hey everyone! I started raising chickens about a year ago at my daughter's request. In April I started selling eggs locally (for eating) so I could claim my expenses as a farm loss on my taxes. Turns out I really like this "hobby". It is so much fun to see people's faces when they hear you sell fresh eggs! What a fun experience! I live in Tulsa city limits and only have 4 of my own hens (2 of the original 6 were eaten by strays) so I get my other eggs from "supplier" friends ( in Inola and Porter). My lovely hens seem to lay larger eggs then theirs (spoiled?). All of our production has gone way down in the last month. What has everyone been doing to help their girls beat the OK heat and keep laying??? Any suggestions appreciated.
