a shroom eating Americana

Just nursed a 18 month old Americana hen after finding her eating the little white mushrooms that appear in my yard after a hard rain. Never had any other chicken do this, also never had so many mushrooms show up. Any one else had a chicken try to commit suicide? Maybe mushroom is the wrong word. Should have been toadstool. Anyhow, isolated her, she couldn't walk, just lay on the ground, and in my arms, eyes slowly closing, head lolling around. Kept her apart in a quiet corner of the woodshed. Happy to report she back to normal and with the flock.

Glad to hear that she's back to normal. None of mine ever intrstd in mushrooms. Although, I have worked with a few teens who have liked mushrooms. . . . Very Dangerous for them as well!!!
