🐓:jumpyOkay, I thought I would tell you guys a story about my chickens and why you should always love and look after them. Okay, so about 2 years ago, I bought 5 beautiful chicks and named them Fuzzy, Nugget, Coco, Honey and Alice. As soon as we bought them, me and my family grew so attached to them as they lived in our house so the first thing we heard in the morning was "CHIRP!,CHIRP!,CHIRP!" it was adorable! After about a month with them in the house all day, in a cage, we decided to let them out all day, everyday to free range, the loved it! Anyway everyday when we let them out, they explored further and further on our 5 acres. After a while, it was time they faced their fears and went to start sleeping with the "big scary adult chooks." So just before dusk, when they knew it was time for bed, we "pounced on them," and put them on the perches with the "big scary chickens," where they would sleep from now on. Anyway the next morning when I went to feed the chickens the 5 chicks (who weren't really chicks anymore but I just liked saying that) they were right at the door, and barged their way out, without even having breakfast. One morning when the 5 chicks barged their way out of the chicken pen, we heard the strangest noise come from Fuzzy, we were worried at first but did some research and it turned out Fuzzy was a rooster because that dreadful sound was crowing! We decided to keep Fuzzy because he was the leader of the five chicks and he was also very sweet too. Anyway, after that we decided to keep the five chicks in the chicken pen because soon the hens would be laying eggs however, we let all of our chickens out in the afternoons so they could scratch around and free range. We did this for several months, but we decided Fuzzy could come out because he got quite bored in the chicken pen he didn't lay eggs either, so that was okay. Now, this is the part that is really sad (just to warn you!) One day when two of the five chicks were out on an adventure next door, they went into our neighbours chicken pen to eat their food (Our neighbour didn't mind because they enjoyed the five chicks company) but a either a wild dog or fox came and ate Coco whole and ate half of Fuzzy. When I got home later that day, my parents told me the news and I was devastated, in shock, angry, upset and many more emotions. Coco was also the prettiest chicken we had which my mum absolutely adored (Coco was a golden laced Wyandotte, we don't know what Fuzzy was though)
😥 :frow
I hope you guys a warned about my story and this why I want you to love them and always care for them. The five chicks have many more stories but this is the main one I wanted to share. Please be careful with your chickens.
