Good morning from Un-incorporated Snohomish County WA. My family came to me saying they wanted to get chickens........ So we went to the local feed store in April and picked out our 5 little chicks...... an Americana, a New Hampshire Red?? a Golden Laced whyndot, and two little bantees?? I'm really not that familiar with the names of the birds........but what fun!!! the little beep beep beep as they started to grow so fast!!!! So I jumped in and built my coop- (I posted my coop photos) and moved the birds into the coop at around 10 weeks. They seem to really love the coop and I have to admit- I really enjoy the birds.

I grew up on a farm in Eastern Washington and don't remember enjoying chickens that much- We had a large coop and probably 20 or more chickens- they were just on the farm.....didn't pay much attention to them. Now that I have my own little backyard flock I really am having fun.

Now I'm just waiting on my first 600 dollar egg!!!

Welcome to BYC!!! I'm also a new member. I remember my first egg, we built 3 different coops, which we had to tear down! Our first eggs cost us some 1,000+$! Still it tasted GREAT!!!!
