Well my three girls are really growing. They will be 3 weeks old on Wednesday so my wonderful Hubby and I started work on our A frame coop this weekend.

We are so pleased with how it's coming out. We'll be painting the framing during the evenings this week and next weekend begin on the inside of the upper deck and hopefully, all the outsides. We are making trays in the upper deck that will be removable for easy cleaning with linoleum floors.

We are having a lot of fun building it together. In addition, we are building a "vacation" run for the girls as well. The coop will be on smooth pavers with pine shaving or hay down on it but the "vacation" run will be portable to move the girls around for fresh places in the grass to scratch and play.

I think we are going to name the A frame "Coop de Cluck" and I'm purchasing a "Fresh Organic Eggs" sign in colors to match. Our coop will be painted to match our house since we are really very much in suburbia. I can't wait to see the finished product!

Darling Hubby sanding some of the rough pieces!

That's me helping! The dumb end of the measuring tape! LOL

The frames are all complete!

And ready for painting before beginning the insides next weekend!

My girls today at two and half weeks! Mildred is red, Mabel is black and Pearl is more blonde!

Nice!
Do post pics when it's done.
Your girls will be happy in their new home.

Also, lol @ "the dumb end of the measuring tape."

Thanks! We joke about the dumb end of the measuring tape all the time but I weld a pretty good drill myself. My husband is the best! I'll post more photos as we go. I'm so excited about building the coop and having my girls.

The girls moved in to their coop today. They seem happy. I probably won't sleep a wink tonight worrying about my girls even though I know we have a very secure coop. I'll post photos this weekend when I get a chance to take some!
