OK so a friend of mine is a landlord and when his Tennant moved out they left a note saying we left you a surprise
....... Only to find 9 chickens in dark small squalor. We have taken in 4 of the girls as that's all we had room for until new homes come up. So we have mites which the art now being treated for, scaly leg mites again being treated for now. But one of the girls we noticed seams to be struggling for breath. She's puffing her face when she breaths. She doesn't seam crakerly in her chest. As you can see their not I'm the best shape what can I do to make them more comfortable

How awful to leave chickens like that! We have taken in two batches of abandoned chickens and both times it was disastrous because they introduced diseases that almost killed our established flock. Sadly, I recommend culling the abandoned birds to keep your flock safe.

They aren't with my flock they will stay in quarantine for a minimum of two weeks as I wouldn't risk my girls like that. After a good night's rest in dry clean accommodation and a good meal and fresh water they do seam better today. When they was abandoned they had no food or water and there housing if you can call it that was dark damp and stank poo and muck everywhere

Good luck with them! They deserve some place safe and clean. Someone near where I live abandoned 2,000 birds, fish and reptiles in a warehouse without food, water or ventilation. Over 1,000 died. So cruel. Your abandoned birds are lucky you found them!

I can't even think why you would abandoned any animal we also now have a hamster too thanks to the same people. Makes me so mad one of the girls has a cut beak so we think she a ex Battery hen
