Abandoned Duckling?!

Hey there everybody,
So today this little duckling was found in a backyard by itself, so I took it home to care for it and hopefully add it to my flock of 12. I’m pretty certain that it’s a Black Bellied Whistling Duck, but I’m not totally sure.

I’m just curious if that’s the right breed, how old it might be, and what’s the best way to care for it? Should I just raise it like I would any other duck? Thanks!

Wow, gorgeous markings. Do you have an animal wildlife rescue center you could reach out to for help?

If you could I would attempt to get it a friend or two from the farm store and just raise it normally and add it to your flock when old enough

Keep it away from your flocks and contact your local wildlife rehab or wildlife control. They'll know what to do.
They're protected by the migratory bird act and illegal for you to keep
