My 5 year old DD has this on her pinky finger and it was shocking! She just had surgery yesterday and she has done well so far. However the biopsies has not come back yet. We are worried a little bit and wondered if this is going to be a long term "disease". No where it said it is cancer. She has the hairline fracture to it when she was playing duck, duck, goose game, got up and run to chase, tripped and fell against the wall, breaking that finger. Boy did it swell! Went to the ER afterwards and the ER doc and a bone specialist had no idea what they were dealing with. So off to Springfield with the referral and the plastic/bone surgeon said it was ABC with possibility of Giant Cell Tumor.
I know my DD is taller than average of 4 foot 1 and half inches tall of the age of five years and weighs 72 lbs.
What we know, she is maturity earlier as one of the nurses pulled me aside and told me to contact my ped. for DD because "down under" is showing.
Now that is something alarming because girls do not mature so early! I know I was early, at the age of nine while hubby was 12 years old when he had his first facial hairs. So could this be genetics?
Or is it enivornmental? I do not know if this ABC and early puberty is related to one another. There is not a whole lot of facts out there.
Anyone dealing with this or know of someone that is? How did it come out? Would she go thru a lifetime surgery?
