We have 2 amberlinks out of the 6 chicks. They are about 8-9 weeks old. One has this big puff almost like an air pocket, the other doesn't. Does anyone know what this is? Cause for alarm?
Chickens and other birds when they eat the food goes down and into the birds crop where it is ground up with grit the chicken eats and then it enters the stomach
That is why you offer grit to non free ranging birds and chicks when they are still in the brooder and eating treats
When the birds eat a lot their crop becomes full but overnight it should empty
Is her chest full on both sides of her chest or mostly on her right side? Does it feel hard, soft, or puffy? Does it feel like there could be air under the skin?
