About ready to scream.. RACCOONS.

My husband enclosed my run by digging around it 8 inches or so, and cementing in the 1" sq 14 ga wire fencing with 4 x 4's 4 or 5 ft apart and the same fencing on top of the run. The screened windowns on the coop are covered with expanded metal. We have raccoons too but all they've done so far is eat my wild bird seed and the marshmallows in the live trap. My husband hauls them about 15 miles away to a place called Brushy Creek.

It's illegal here to relocate..
I'm trying to find a trap though, as I don't want to buy one - they're expensive!!

Hi Kerriliane, not sure what the laws are in BC, but I'm in Ontario and our MNR allows us to shoot anything that is a threat to our livestock. So coons, coyotes etc are fair game. Not sure if have a TSC hardware store around your place but they carry traps and they're not crazy expensive. I bought a double pack for $45 on sale, one coon size, and a smaller one for possum, no possums around here though! We trap and then kill them. Re-locating is almost always not permitted, and nobody wants your problem coon so you may as well take care of it yourself! Last year we got rid of three using the trap. This year I lost two chickens to a coon before someone hit him on the road. Now the trap is baited again and we're ready! Good luck.
