my rooster started crow during the day couple weeks ago. we have a neighbor that has a chicken and a rooster. the neighbor rooster will crow then are rooster will crow . are they talking to each other.

I think they are challenging each other, as the more dominant player. They are probably driving neighbors nuts.

My Buff Orpington rooster just loves to answer the neighbours' roosters. From the middle of the night and through the whole day. Music to my ears!

Blessed is the neighborhood where a rooster crows.

Yes, rooster communicate with each other by crowing. But it's not as much of a hey, how are you buddy?! as it is- I'm a big fierce mean rooster and if you ever come at my ladies I will whip yo' tail.

They will crow more often when they have a crowing neighbor because they must daily... daily reassert their dominance.
