Have been offered a pair of Buff Silkies who are about 1.5 years of age. My question is about their coloring; they are 'light' Buffs opposed to the deep 'reddish' colored Buffs. Is it a DQ for the Buffs to not have the deep rich reddish coloring?

Thank you!

Cheryl

Buff needs to be consistantly buff all the way down to the skin. Too often, you see a nice buff bird, but if you move the feathers, you see that the underfluff is almost white. That is not a good buff color and will be marked as so at a show.

Thank you! Thought it best to post a picture of them so maybe I could get a little more insight.

He doesn't look buff. Can you take some more photos--profile & also looking at the camera?

Is her tail twisted like that or is it the wind?

I agree, definately not buff. Interesting color though. Do you have any better pics?
