Here's the backstory...
I got eggs from a friend, his rooster and chickens roam freely together all the time. He dropped off a dozen eggs last Saturday afternoon 4/2 unexpectedly. I put them on my counter and had to go out to a bday party with the kids. I didn't put them in the refrigerator because I thought that they had to be stored between 40 - 60 degrees. I had nothing close to those conditions as it was 80 outside. At the party, my niece breaks her arm in half and I spent then rest of the night in the ER. My husband get the kids home and sees eggs on the counter and puts them in the refrigerator. I find out the next day.... UGH! So, I assumed it was a lost cause and that at least they would make for good omelets! I started reading around last night and some people have had success hatching refrigerated eggs so I decided to give it a go...
I got my Little Giant still air incubator at 99 degrees, eggs out of the fridge overnight, ready to go. Now what?!
I know I have to turn the eggs a few times a day and marking the sides makes this process easier. But what about water on the bottom? I also read that there is a specific way to place them in the incubator (fat side up?)
Anyway... any advice would help!
