My father in law put chickens in our yard when my husband got a job in canada. We were gone for a year and we got home and noticed one chicken stand out picture below of her neck. So we caught her and put her aside and she freaked out. After about 20 minutes she started eating the cracked corn my husband put down for her. But my daughter picked some worms nut she refused to eat them.
Also, other chickens about half of the 24 out there have there back area feathers gone and lots of scabs on them :( my father in law says it is normal and part of the pecking order. So we started researching like crazy and decided to get our own advice.

Ugh... never mind I cant figure out how to add pics. Anyway, the neck has no feathers :(

I'm in the same boat with one of my chickens. Constantly gets picked on and almost attacked by two of the others. I cant tell if it's the pecking order or if she is getting hurt. Luckily I don't see any scabs yet...

Feather loss can be normal and often is not a cause for concern....let alone on indication of abuse.
Bloody spots on backs can be a sign of stress and/or insufficient nutrition causing birds to peck at each other.

More information is needed:
How many chickens?
Age of chickens?
How many roosters?
How big is coop(feet by feet)?
How big is run(feet by feet)?
Exactly what (including protein percentage) are you feeding and how?
