My chickens are six weeks old. They have spent the last two nights in their tractor. I have had them in their tractor for several hours for the last several days. They have a plastic fence that I have been putting them in for the last two weeks. The fence is about three feet high and I normally cover it with a large sheet to keep them in.

Today my husband and I wen to lunch. After we got back, (an hour after) I checked on the girls and they have all escaped their pen.

I wasn't intending on letting them free range yet. I don't even have them in their run attached to the tractor because I didn't want to have to force them to go back "home" at night. I was really trying to let them learn where they were to return to before taking any of these steps.

It's too dang hot to chase five chickens around the yard and freak everyone out. What's my best course of action to get them back into confinement?

Treats in the tractor. Once one discovers the treats the others aren't far behind. I put scratch grains down so they can't try to carry the treats off.

Awesome, I will leave the door open and put in treats. They are familiar with the tractor/coop so hopefully if I put a light in it they will go "home."

Thanks for your help.
