My splash cochin rooster and silver birchen phoenix hen hatched out chicks this weekend - half of them are little chipmunks like their mom was, while the other half are blue/splash like their dad. They all have feathered legs, so I know they have the same daddy, and the hen escaped from the run (she can fly over the 6' fence) and all the eggs were identical, so I'm pretty positive she's the only mom too. Is it possible that the blues are all boys while the chipmunks are all girls (or vice-versa)?

Yes, she hatched them in a trash can that was tipped over in our shed!

If indeed they are sexlink it should be chipmunk (silver) should be boys, while the blue should be girls.

Boys=mother
girls=daddy.

Those chicks are not sexlinks. The different down color is due to the father not being pure for his E locus (base if you will) color. BTW, the hen is a silver duckwing, not a silver birchen.

ETA, the chipmunk colored chicks are sexlinks, with the lighter colored chipmunk chicks being males.
