Hello all. This is my first time incubating eggs.

So, this morning while moving the eggs to put in water in the water channel, an egg accidentally slipped from my hand and fell. Badly cracked, membrane fully exposed, bleeding wouldnt stop. I almost cried. As I had no idea what to do, with a broken and heavy heart had to discard the poor fella.
For future reference, is there a way to save a broken egg?

:frow Welcome to BYC,
Oh gosh, I’m so sad for you! :hugs
Accidents happen though. Almost every day there’s a new thread about a dropped hatching egg on BYC.
In the future, you can seal a broken egg with melted candle wax dripped onto the egg and smoothed into the cracks with your fingertip.

Thank you so much!! Im really sad and heartbroken about it, but I'll be more careful in the future. What about if say part of the shell of the egg completely broke off into small pieces? What can be done then?

I think you can use the melted candle wax to fix that broken egg. Even though there are many other ways to fix it I think this is the one that is used most often.
