My Silver Lakenvelder had not laid an egg for 5 weeks, she has in 6 days laid 5 eggs. I took them all since we have no Roo. She is now protecting a trio of golf balls. If any of the girls go near her, she carries on, makes noise creating a racket. I have never had a bird go broody, but I think she has ---- which is odd since Lakenvelders are like the ADD poster child of the chicken world.
I have Wynadotte, Orpingtons, Rocks etc. all birds that can go broody but never had. I my girl who is the mostly flighty with the most attidude, has LOL
