Added a 1.5 year rooster to my 10 week old girls, is he bored?

I got a free 1.5 year old rooster from a friend who said he needed a bigger flock, and I have 28, 10 week old ladies. He is gorgeous, definitely a stud. I have had no issues with him and the ladies. He is very protective of his girls, and very very nice to me and my family. The lady said he was a very quiet rooster, but that has not been my experience. Since my girls aren't mature, is he just bored or frustrated? Or getting used to his environment? He crows what seems to be non stop in the morning, then he takes a break for the afternoon, and starts up again in the late afternoon/evening. We have several other neighbors with roosters, so they talk back and fourth. He just seems to always want to get the last word.

He is in a new environment and is responding to other roosters in the area defining his territory. He may or may not quiet down once he feels completely at home.
