I'm raising 12 hens (6 leghorns, 3RIRs, and 3 BRs )for eggs to eat and sell. I intend to raise more chicks at a later date to expand my hendom. I currently don't have a rooster but will be adding one next fall/winter. How is the best way to introduce the new kid on the block to the ladies? would it be better to get a roo chick and let him grow up w/adult hens? I want to keep as much peace in the flock as possible....any help?

I just added a couple young roos to a bunch of older hens. They are beating the crap out of the roos. I wonder if they'll ever roo up and get the job done.

I may have to go to 'Rent-A-Roo' to get my ladies started in motherhood
