Adding a run (lean to) to my coop (shed)

All done!

Moved the rocks and put wire there and put them back. Ran out of HWC so had to use some spare chicken wire. That spot just goes to my chicken yard though so nothing to worry about there. The wire extrends out about a foot under the rocks.

Filled it with mulch/top soil. Just need to add some enrichment/hiding areas in the morning and it's off to quail land!

They won’t know what to do with all that space. You’ll just have to keep an eye during a rain storm to see how it goes.

I put a bucket/nipple waterer sitting up on a 4x4 scrap. Typical big poultry feeder. This one. https://www.hogslat.com/blue-hanging-chicken-feeder-35-lbs

Did you want a few extra males? No charge. You could grow them out and process them in a few weeks to see if you like the meat.

I appreciate it but no thank you. I am already in a bit over my head right now honestly! Once I add these quail I will have 69 animals in my care, mammals birds and reptile. That is a new record high for me. I would prefer not having to worry about processing the extra males, as I already have some cornish x to be processed this month and a litter of meat rabbits due on the 23rd. Thank you for the offer though.

I didn’t like the whole rabbit deal when I gave them a go. Really enjoying the quail though!
