Is this safe?

A small amount, like 1/2 to 1 Tablespoon?

Couldn't this chlorinate the atmosphere in the bator, making it harmful to embryos???

I have a hovabator genesis 1588

I always clean my incubator with water/bleach solution, but I would be afraid to put bleach in the water trays while chicks/eggs are in there. I think it could probably be lethal to them... just my opinion though..

I always use this method and don't have any problems with it. I guess it's just a personal choice whether you want to try it or not.

Let me add that the bleach solution is not in the bator at all times. I only add it once a week.

I would not use bleach. The Clorex bottle says it is harmful to humans and domestic animals. You could use distilled water, that would be safer. I want a bator but that could be a dangerous combination. Good Luck CK
