Adding day old babies to 2 week olds - bad idea?

We have 8 wonderful sweet silkes that are about 2 week old, and since we have this kindergarten running, I'm so tempted to add a few more of a different breed (standard breed). Is it a bad idea? Is it too late to have them mixed up?

Just to be on the safe side, I would keep them separated until the little ones are one or two weeks old.

I've mixed birds that are a little over 2 weeks apart in age with no problems. I'd be a little concerned if the olders were full sized and you wanted to add bantam babies, but full sized babies should be fine. Silkies aren't known for being mean, anyway.
