Have any of you added eggs to your incubator after some have already been started for about a week. If so how did you handle it with the different hatch dates?

I think that most people that do staggered hatchs have 2 bators 1 for incubation and 1 for hatching in. I have done it in 1 bator. I just upped the humidity after the first pip and didn't open the bator til they finished hatching. I then took out the chicks got the humidity down to about 30% started turning the eggs again and all seemed to go fine. I guess its risky but it can be done.

Thanks. I am wanted to order some eggs this weekend and I already have a dozen I need to put in by Friday. I sure don't want to risk loosing any.

There is always a risk but you really don't know how the hatch would go even if you didn't do it. I usually do lower humidity then some so I do 25-40 first 18 days and up the humidity to 50-60 during hatch, so I think thats why it didn't seem to hurt mine. Good luck!
