Hi!

So we have 6 chickens that are about 8 weeks old. I posted some pics here earlier this week and the general agreement is that at least 2 of my 6 are roosters. The lady that we bought them from said if there were any roosters she would exchange them for hens/pullets for us.

My question is how do I go about introducing new chickens to the others? They are still inside in a brooder. We plan on moving the out to the coop this coming weekend. Would that be the best time to add new ladies? I thought maybe being in the new surroundings would confuse the pecking order and we could slip new ones in unnoticed. Am I dreaming? Are we going to have chaos?

Thanks for any thoughts/suggestions

Yes. The brooder is the other chicks' territory, unfamiliar territory will even things up a bit. Good luck!!

Kudos for getting the coop done while they're still babies! We didn't get ours done will they were nearly at point-of-lay.
