Adding polish hens to mixed flock, has anyone tried “haircuts” to help?

I’m in need of advice. I’m trying to add 2 polish hens to my established 3 hens, black australorpe, Plymouth barred rock and a wyandotte. I’ve read that this is often problematic. As of now I’ve got the new girls separated in a large dog crate within the run in hopes that after about a week they’ll be used to seeing each other and will thus be more accepting. Should that fail my other thought was that maybe giving the polish a severe haircut would help? Has anyone tried this? My thoughts are that a “haircut” would be dual purpose, increase their ability to see and thus hopefully evade pecks, and that it would remove a bit of interest for the established girls to bully. Thoughts?
