Adding to flock

I have two 17 week old pullets who are sweet as can be. Their rooster is being rehomed today so they will be on their own. I'd like to get two more hens. Is it best to get younger or older hens or doesn't it matter? With it just being the two of them do you think it will be difficult introducing the new hens?

The linked conversation is a good one, one big suggestion I have is to make sure you consider your area and if it’s big enough to keep the new bird(s) separate but in eye sight of your existing flock for a couple of weeks. They need to be able to see but not touch and if you’re tight in space, that would make it tough. But the stuff mentioned in the link is all good advice!
