Hello! So I have a question.... I have a flock of 13 chicks.. They are a couple months old. And in that original flock I only had one silkie and I wanted to get two more. So today at the farmers exchange I picked up two more who are only a couple weeks younger than my flock. I was going to wate until nightfall to introduce them but my fiancé insisted it would be fine to put them in the outside pen with the rest. They were fine for about an hour until one of my barred rocks and one of my golden chickens decided to peck and chase them around.

So now I have put the two new silkies in the coop with the chicken door closed while all the other chickens are outside. They are huddled in the corner and seem to be scared out of their mind. I feel awful!

I am Thinking about penning off a corner of the coop with some chicken wire so they can have their own space and get a little acclimated and still having protection.

Hopefully if it worked right I uploaded a picture of the new silkies and the existing flock for show. And how the silkies are huddled is how they have been all afternoon.

Silkies are by nature very docile and get picked on easily as they don't usually stand up for them selves, also being unable to fly works at their disadvantage as they cannot get away or up and above the others. Try putting them in another cage/ crate during the day on the idside or outside of your run so that they can see the others, then slowly move them closer, afer a few days try introducing them at night and keep an eye on them. also feed in multiple places and ad an extra water container so that the bossy ones don't hog them all
