There feathers look bad and some are missing is there something wrong with them

Ragged feathers don't always mean much--my poor broody hen looks like a ragdoll at the moment, but she's perfectly healthy.

However yours do look sort of bad. I think mites and nutritional deficiencies are the two most likely causes. If you suspect the former, do a vent inspection for patches of eggs or poo and also for mites. If you suspect the latter, just feed them well and wait for molt. It should clear up. They don't actually act sick, do they?

No I just put them in there new coop today and they instantly started scratching around the people that had them had way to many chickens in A small area. Can this such thing happen when you have to many chickens and not enough space

If they're picking on each other or living in really rough conditions...i live in rural country. I've seldom met a chicken that wasn't granted at least five square feet of run to itself. Anyway, your pen looks pretty large and nice. Unless they're acting sick, just take good care of them and they should clear up.

I really would check for mites, though. Ragged feathers can be a symptom of obsessive preening, and overcrowded conditions are marvelous homes for mites.

I agree with @sylviethecochin having more space, getting a good balanced poultry feed and checking them over for lice and mites is in order.

Do you have an existing flock? These new chickens are being quarantined for a few weeks so you can watch them for any signs of illness -- right?
