adopting from an animal shelter?

Hi all, I am looking for 2 hens as we had two that just passed away. I saw on the LA shelter website that they have hens for adoption. I was wondering if anyone has adopted before and what their experiences were. Thank you!

thank you for choosing to adopt! ok so most shelters will health screen their animals before they put them up for adoption so you will be sure to get healthy chickens. since they are most likely rescues though, bonding with them will take a bit more time then chicks but definitely worth it. if you have any other questions feel free to ask

I currently have 2 other hens. Will that be an issue? I've heard that they can kill each other...

make it so they can see not touch each other for two week, then let them be together
