So I'm pretty sure I can now be considered the crazy chicken lady, because I love bragging about my chickens, but anyways! I have a 4 week old Salmon Faverolles pullet named Elsie
And a few days ago I brought home 5 new chicks from cackle hatchery and she immediately got protective of them and would herd them under the heat lamp and peck me if I tried picking them up
(Here she is giving me the stink eye because i got too close)
And when I got home tonight and checked on them, the heat lamp had burnt out (it was probably out all day) but Elsie was sitting on all five chicks to keep them warm! It was absolutely adorable. I had NO IDEA that a month old pullet could have those kinds of motherly instincts. It amazed me lol. Anyways I just thought that it was super cute and wanted to share it with everyone
