I have an adult chicken who is struggling to poop. Yesterday she had a prolapse and it was put into place by my vet (I'm a new chicken owner and did not feel qualified to do it). They told me to watch and make sure she is pooping okay. She seemed to have some thinner poop that was passing without any problems, but tonight I can see she is struggling to pass what appears to be more solid, but normal, poop. What should I do? Is there a way I can help her pass it? Her vent is open and hasn't prolapsed again, and I can see the end of poop starting to hang out. I can see her muscles trying to contract to get it out, but the muscles are too weak right now, I think.

What's the best way to do that? Sorry, I've never had to do anything like this so I just don't know how.

I guess I assume some was out and you can grasp it with a paper towel.

If all you are seeing is your hen pushing than she's probably attempting to push the prolapse out because it feels weird. Often they will continue to push the tissue out. I personally have had no luck fixing a prolapse.

Lots of water & a lil bit molasses or honey in water losen her poop

did the vet say anything about what to do if she is not pooping OK? I have one who survived a prolapse and infection, had a very mucky butt for over a week, but she attended to it frequently and the others didn't peck at it, so you could just let nature take its course and give her time to heal. Mine is now laying again, and large eggs to boot :)
