Hello! I have a 4 month old Freedom Ranger who we plan to use as an egg layer that has started to struggle with walking. It looks like one leg is starting to splay. We have a decent amount of shavings in the coop and she has never been on slippery floors. Any suggestions on how to fix that in an adult chicken?

Welcome to BYC, sorry about your pullet. I have never seen "splay leg" in an older bird, so I suspect it's something else. Can you post some pictures? Can you also upload a video to YouTube or Vimeo then copy and paste that link here?

There are a couple of conditions that look like splay leg, one is called slipped tendon (perosis), the other is twisted tibia.

@Eggcessive, @Wyorp Rock. Thoughts?

Pictures of the legs from the front or back while standing, or a video could be helpful. Since I believe this is a meat bird, they are prone to leg issues, including leg bone deformities that can affect only one or both legs. Those include varus or valgus deformity, a twisted tibia, tibial dyschondroplasia (TD,) and some birds may have slipped tendons. An older term is perosis. B complex vitamins or a chick vitamin with riboflavin could be used to help with leg issues. Here are some articles (scroll down for pictures of valgus deformity) to see if any of those seem to be similar:
