Hello everyone! I'm about to upgrade my duck watering system and I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with either of two watering cups/fonts.
1. the BEC MaxiCup drinker

2. this automatic watering bowl

Both are allegedly big enough for ducks to use, judging by the reviews on Amazon, and they both connect to a large tank to reduce the number of refills. I'd love to hear from anyone who has used them as to their experiences. I'm hoping the size is small enough to make easier cleaning for me but big enough to allow my ducks to clean their nares and swish food around to their hearts' content.
Alternatively, does anyone have some other watering cup that they have used and would recommend? I'd prefer some cup like this that connects to a tank rather than the buckets I've seen many people using. Thanks in advance!

We've got a range of designs and they use them all for different purposes. For the drinking, I think the least maintenance option is the tank filled at the top with a hose with the saucer underneath that refreshes when the water drops below a certain level. Still have to clean that thing out once a month and am going to start adding acv to cut down on the slime (euw - what is that anyway ?!).

I can't imagine our ducks liking those! :lau

They like to get their heads right into their buckets. In looking online, the depth looks marginal at best on the MaxiCup for a duck's bill, but others may have a different answer:

If we did use these, we would also want to provide a deeper bucket or pool into which they could really get their heads, so I don't think these would save us any work. I am interested to hear what others say.

FYI: We use a five-gallon bucket in our guy's run at night, and we dump and refill it every morning. They don't use it much during the day because they are out in their pastures and they have water there. In the winter we switch over to a heated bucket, which works well.
