Advice for perimeter of coop

Hi Everyone,

Finishing up my first coop and hoping all of you with much more experience can help. Was thinking of burying hardware cloth around the perimeter of my coop (we have raccoons and fox in my area) and was wondering if digging out a little and putting pavers or bricks would be just as good?

Thoughts? Advice?
