I have a broody hen sitting on 10 guinea eggs, (I have two full grown guineas but got them as adults so the keet stage is new to me). I have done a lot of research and I know they say guinea keets are very hardy starting at 2 weeks but its approaching fall, should I be concerned. If I let her keep sitting the eggs will hatch the first week in october (guinea eggs take soooo long). Typical temps in my area for the month of October will be:
Normal High: 65°F
Normal Low: 42°F
Normal Average: 53°F

Is this too cold for little keets being brought into the world? I just want to give them the best shot. Thanks!

I think they will be just fine with a chicken mama.

I had a broody hatch chicks in February. I have pictures of them at 3 days old in the snow. Every 5 minutes or so, she would gather them under her for a few minutes to warm up, then back out they would go.
