Hi out there. I have four hens that are "of age" to be laying...They were 5 months in mid July. There's been some scratching in the boxes but no eggs. I am feeding them pellets that were recommended by Tractor Supply, Dumor Laying. I'm just wondering if anyone else is having this same issue and what you did about it. I appreciate any info/advice.
Thanks!

THIS JUST IN.....AS of 8/18/2015...WE HAVE ONE BROWN EGG LAID! Thanks for the advice from folks!

My hens are the same age and only one has started laying once or twice a week, just give them time and they will start laying. (I use that brand of feed also sometimes)

What breeds are they? Do they free range? Do they have plump red combs and squat for you?

Hi donrae. They are mixed breeds. Three white, one black. They free range in the late afternoon until their bedtime. A couple of them have more plump/red combs than the other two. We did have a breakthrough yesterday. Somebody laid a brown egg!!! Yay! I have no idea who though, lol! Do you think we are heading in the right direction?
Thanks

Hey there Chicken Girl1. You were absolutely right. Patience is what I need. When I got home yesterday, somebody had laid a brown egg, Yay!!! I have no idea which one, but I'm so excited that we got an egg!
Thank you for the reassurance!
