Advice on chick that was a bit under developed - hatched with yolk sac

Hi All,

This was posted to another thread but I wasn't getting anywhere. Yesterday we had a chick that hatched with the yolk sak. We kept her in the incubator overnight. She was doing better this morning and moving around a bit more. There is still a bit of something sticking out of the abdomen. I can now see the vent clearly and she pooped this afternoon so it is a bit of improvement. Still a bit wobbly on her feet & much smaller than the others.

My question is now that 24 hours has past what do I feed the poor bugger? Should I drop feed & water? she is sooo small.

I would make sure it has access to food. It will eat when and if it is ready... Just show it the food and water by dipping its beak in it...

They wont need food till day 3 but i choose to feed mine when i take them out of the incubator which is after they hatch, but thats only because one time a chick wasn't smart enough to take its head off the heated ring inside. But in my other incubator i dont have to worry about that sooo i leave them in 4 a day then take them out and givethem feed and water
