Hello!
This is my first time doing this so forgive me😅
3 days ago, I had to do a nail removal on one of my chicken's expo, it was my first time doing so and I was scared.
It was a successful removal, puffy, hot to the touch but gone.
I worry Expo might be fighting an infection, it's not hot but warm, and the swelling came back. NO discharge (thankfully)
she barely puts weight on it if she doesn't have to, I know it's still early in the healing but I worry since the puffiness/swelling came back.
So please any advice for antibiotics the natural way or meds I can get form the store, any advice is welcomed and appreciated.

Hello! Do you have a picture of the toe? It certainly sounds inflamed, which could be a precursor to or an early sign of infection. Also, how is her appetite/energy?

Do you have Colloidal Silver on hand? If so, administer about 0.5mL orally or add a dropper or two into her water for the day as this will help ward off/fight any ongoing infections. As for pain relief, Meloxicam would be my suggestion as that would also help with the swelling, but I'm not sure if you have that readily on hand.

Natural medicine-wise, Turmeric helps with inflammation and pain relief, so I would give her half a capsule of that if you have turmeric capsules on hand. Alternatively, Arnica Montana can help with pain relief and is safe for chickens- for this, you would use 2-3 30c pellets dissolved in a little water or drop them straight into her mouth. Hope this helps and that Expo feels better soon!
