Hi guys. My bantam silkie got attacked by the other chickens in the coop. They scalped her in a couple spots and also left her injured near her vent. We are on day 9 of the injuries and obviously she is isolated inside with daily soakings & cleanings followed by neosporin on the scabs to hopefully keep them moist. I will be honest- her back end scab is hard today and starting to completely peel off. We haven’t done our soak yet today so she has not had the poop near her vent removed (YET) in this photo.
Im mainly asking if this is looking like we are in the heading in the right direction or if theres more you think I should be doing.
I am also curious as to why her head injury is looking larger daily because I know she is unable to peck herself back there so is this also just part of the healing process or maybe her feathers up there finally all fell out?
Ps if you need better pictures please just say so I will take them after her soak tonight.
As always- thank you for taking the time to read/comment.

What are you using to clean her with? I would not soak her. When I've had an injured hen, I just used sterile saline in a spray bottle to wash it twice a day, then dried it with a clean towel, and smeared it with Original Neosporin. Be sure your triple antibiotic ointment does NOT contain pain reliever as that is toxic to chickens. Leave the wounds open to the air. If they look like they are drying out you can also spray the wounds with Veterycin Spray Gel.

Were your hens wounds ever this bad?

I actually also have the saline wound spray and definitely prefer that because being a silkie she takes forever to dry even with the hairdryer. And yes she pecks the ointment off but we did make sure there was no pain reliever! I am just worried if I dont get alllllll the poop off those back feathers it will be the cause of an infection after all this progress we made. But if you think we can avoid soaking and just make sure she is cleaned well, and then ointment applied I bet she would be a lot happier as she obviously doesn’t like getting wet.

You say the wound on her head looks like it's getting bigger. Do you see signs of fresh injury? Could she be scratching it with her claws?
The only sign on any fresh injury is that little pink area at the bottom. Everything else looks old but I am sure she is scratching it with her claws. Is there anyway to prevent her scratching up there?
