Hello!
So I am expecting to receive shipped calico and porcelain silkie eggs on Friday. What procedure should I follow? I hear I should let them Sit for 24 hours without turning them? Can I just put them in the incubator with the automatic turner off instead? What do you recommend? I also have a broody hen, is it better to give the eggs to her?

Have people had good success with shipped eggs?

I have a second question, can I feed the silkie chicks medicated chick started? Are there any harmful affects? The medicated chick starter is the only one that I can buy in small quantities.

Thanks!

I would let them set large end up in a carton for 12 hours to settle and come to room temp. then you can go to the incubator.
