Advice please!! My two month old chicks got fed layer feed!

I really need somr advice, I recently found out that my parents fed my 2 month old chicks layer feed, they are 3 months now, so they've been on it for about a month. I read that it can damage their organs. So I'm really worried and upset. My question is should I get them back on chick starter, or is it too late now. Again any advice would help.

Just put them back on grower or starter. That's all you can do. The high calcium isn't required for growing birds, but a month at higher levels wasn't likely long enough for them to have sustained a horrid amount of renal damage.

No, it is not too late to feed them a proper feed. Change them today.

Yes you will want to feed them chick feed because the layer can damage their organs. So I would just get them back on track with their chick feed. maybe you can feed your chickens so the mix up won't happen again. I wish you the best.

Not to highjack but this sort of goes along the lines here....is the only difference in starter and grower the amount of protein?

Yes, Cknldy, but technically starter & grower is the same thing:
Chick Starter/Grower 20%
Poultry Grower/Finisher 15%
Layer 16%
And layer has extra calicum.
