Advice please, never had eggs before.

My momma hen abandoned her Unhatched eggs after 2 hatched and were healthy. I left them there all morning thinking she would come back but made a new nest with her babies. I took the eggs inside candled them and has lots of movement. I don't have an incubator so I used the light I used for my day old chicks and set up a box for them. I put in water hoping to add moisture. Will my chicks survive? They have been in the house for 2 1/2 days. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The only way this could work is if the eggs were kept at the right temperature; 99-101. Lay a thermometer across the top of the eggs. If the temperature is well beyond 102 there is not much hope. A little lower than 99 and they may hatch. Good luck.

Thank you so much. They were peeping (could hear them threw the shell) but that was 24 hrs after we bought them in. I haven't heard anything since but they are moving when I candle them we can see them.
