I have a hen with her recently hatched chick 🐣 (it's about 2 - 3 days old). The hen is still sitting on a nest (rubber eggs only so they won't hatch), I need to move her to a new safer place for her to raise her one chick! However she is very protective and I don't know the best way to move her.

I want to move them before she leads her chick outside. Her nest is accessed by a long ramp - too much for a chick to tackle and there will be too many predators outside (squirrels etc). So it's not safe for her to stay there - I have another hen house prepared for her with a secure run - that she can have to herself.

Any advice would be welcome please.

Honestly I just pick them up and move them. Get someone else to take one of them, and just take them out.
Have the nest set up beforehand and you should be fine.
Be aware the hen is going to start kicking the nest around as soon as that chick can totter, probably before.
