I have a hen with her recently hatched chick
(it's about 2 - 3 days old). The hen is still sitting on a nest (rubber eggs only so they won't hatch), I need to move her to a new safer place for her to raise her one chick! However she is very protective and I don't know the best way to move her.
I want to move them before she leads her chick outside. Her nest is accessed by a long ramp - too much for a chick to tackle and there will be too many predators outside (squirrels etc). So it's not safe for her to stay there - I have another hen house prepared for her with a secure run - that she can have to herself.
Any advice would be welcome please.
