I apologize if this isn't the right spot. I wasn't completely sure where to post it.

My dad let me know that he'll start buying extra feed due to our local feed stores having limited amounts. He thinks that very soon, we won't be able to buy what we need. I figured that would be fine since the flock will probably be eating more anyway.

What would be the best way to store extra feed??

I use big ol' metal garbage cans, like most folks do. Works great and keeps rodents out!

I empty them completely before refilling so that there's no old feed hanging around.

Just make sure you don't store feed too long or it runs the risk of mold and bugs.

I empty a few 50 pound bags into a huge white tub (not sure how much gallons it holds).
The diameter of the tub is approx. 5-6 ft.
Keeps out any pests, and it's very convenient; I find that metal trash cans (old fashioned way of storing extra feed) are harder to scoop from when it gets low. My plastic white tub is only about 4-5 ft tall, so you can scoop with ease, even when it's running low.

If I fill to the top, it usually runs out in about a month.
