Advice to a new runner!

Hey guys! I decided to take up running and there is a 5K race coming up on October 14. I would love to get ideas or advice on how to build up to this thing, and maybe a workout schedule that was useful to you when you first started! :)

I ran a triathlon this summer. It was tons of fun and my first real race of any kind. My take aways we're: work out as often as you can and pick a set amount of time, like 30 or 45 minutes, your distance will come as you keep going; listen to something while you run that keeps your mind off of how you're feeling, audiobooks and podcasts are my go-to over music; have fun, don't race for a good time, race to have fun!
