Does anyone know of an affordable incubator that would work for a variety of species? I might like to try hatching some eggs, but can't see investing in a really expensive incubator. I'm just sort of dabbling in the idea of hatching my own eggs. I'd hate to throw away money on a piece of junk, but is there something reasonable, smallish and decent out there?

You could make your own pretty cheaply. Otherwise, you could buy a styrofoam still air incubator for about $40 - $45.

Check the section of the forum on incubating and hatching. They have some great threads on building an incubator and also threads on the various brands of incubators.

The how-to information and step by step photos are really great, if you want to go with building your own. Not only is it cheaper, you get a much better incubator.
