Hi there,
My 3 month-old male african goose was minding his own business today when my mother's young goat (who ALLLLWAYS breaks into the goose pen to eat their feed) JUMPED off the goose house and landed directly on top of my four geese. They all seem fine except for one of the males, who got a decent puncture-type injury on his neck. The wound is about 1 cm deep and 1 cm across, I suspect it was from the goat's hoof when it landed. The goose seems alright, no neck deformities other than the wound. It isn't bleeding much, the only reason I even noticed it was because the feathers were ruffled out. Do I need to be overly concerned about this? Should I get the goose some antibiotics or would it be better to just leave it alone? The goat weighs probably about 40-50 pounds so the mechanism of injury is pretty much what concerns me the most. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
