Last night was my girls first time out in the yard and I could not get 2 of my chickens back I'm the coop... Should I wait for another outing or let them out. Confused about chickens

Your chickens will learn where home is quicker if you lock them in the coop and run for a few days. This teaches them were home is and lets them learn that the coop is a safe place to roost and be. After a few days of confinement, they should return to the coop for roosting.

If it is warm where you live and your coop is warm, make sure to use a fan to keep them cool.

While you are confining them to learn where home is, give them scratch every day and when you do call out "SCRATCH" and shake the container. It won't take long till you can use that method to get them to come back to the run when you call and shake and throw out some scratch.

I can do that with mine and I don't even have to go in the run to make it work. I just stand near the run gate, shake the container and call out. Half of them run right in and the other half mingle around me until I through a handful into the run through the fence, then the remainder run right in and I close the gate.

Thank you all for your help this website has helped me so much.I am glad there are still ppl out there willing to help someone
